Our Team
As a queer first-generation Asian American, I am passionate about the ways in which I can advocate for mental health in all communities. Culture, environment, the multiple identities you hold, and the societal systems in place can all be significant contributors to the stressors you face. In exploring these factors collaboratively with you, I hope to empower you to recognize your strengths and to draw upon them.
I work with culturally inclusive, anti-oppressive, LGBTQIA+ affirmative, and strengths-based lenses. With expertise in various areas, including health, disabilities, racial identities, gender and sexual identities, anxiety, trauma, and relationships, I bring a wealth of experience to our sessions.
Let's embark on a transformative journey together! I'll be your guide, supporting your self-reflection and personal growth, while honoring your unique voice. We'll explore the roots of your struggles, set empowering goals, and develop practical tools for your daily life. I am committed to building a trusting relationship and safe space with you.
There are times in life when the work of being a person in the world can feel utterly unmanageable, if not downright impossible. Therapy should be a place of respite and recovery from these challenges - it is here that we can slow down, process, laugh, cry, heal, and grow. Everyone deserves a therapeutic space where you can be seen in the way you want to be seen, and heard in the way you want to be heard. In my work, I seek to create a collaborative space based on values of affirmation, trust, and compassion, in which we can explore and address the adversity that prevents you from leading the life you want to lead.
My practice draws from relational, psychodynamic, and feminist modalities to create a holistic approach best suited to your needs. I specialize in working with people who identify as queer, trans, and gender-expansive, but welcome all with a curiosity for cultivating self-knowledge and insight.
Finding a therapist - and dealing with mental health challenges in general - can feel extraordinarily difficult at times, but know that you are deserving of support and care.
Do you want to strengthen your connections to yourself and others? My experiences with therapy have informed a belief that curiosity, self-examination, and strong relationships can be vehicles for positive change in ourselves, our families, and our communities. I enjoy helping clients identify the stories they tell about themselves and their world, as we work together to create adaptive, liberating new ones. You can expect that our work will move at the speed of trust. That is, when we start working together we will prioritize building an alliance where you are empowered to speak freely and are met with attunement and warmth.
I have worked with people who are navigating challenges related to intimacy, identity, acculturation, eating disorders, depression, and anxiety. My approach is person-centered: you are the expert of your own life and your needs will steer the direction of our sessions. I am kink, poly, and gender-affirming.
I am a queer lifelong New Yorker, living in Brooklyn. I love seeing people use and share public space for play, leisure, political organizing, and art. I am inspired by and grateful for Washington Square Park and the city’s library systems.
You have likely spent time trying to understand yourself, yet something still feels unresolved, especially in your relationships or inner life. Even with reflection and effort, you may find yourself repeating the same patterns. I work with individuals and couples dealing with anxiety, overthinking, or recurring relationship challenges. Together, we take the time to understand what is driving these experiences so you can move through your life with more clarity and intention.
I take a thoughtful, insight-oriented approach to therapy, focusing on how you think, feel, and relate. We look more closely at what is shaping your reactions and experiences. The work unfolds gradually, allowing space for both moments of depth and lightness. This process is most effective when engaged with consistently over time.
Finding the right therapist can take time, especially if you are looking for something more in-depth. I work best with individuals and couples who are curious about themselves and open to an ongoing process of self-understanding and change. If this feels like a good fit, you are welcome to reach out.
Many of us develop patterns of behavior and explanatory narratives in response to life's demands. Over time, this form of adaptation can lead to a false sense of self. Sooner or later, though often around midlife, our typical ways of coping and sublimation no longer work, and we are called to reconnect with our true selves. Therapy can support this process of uncovering and freeing ourselves from maladaptive patterns.
I work alongside individuals and couples to support them in achieving their goals. I am particularly attuned to challenges that arise from avoidance, stress, anxiety, depression, unresolved conflict, and relationship issues. I can offer many approaches including psychospirituality, attachment theory, and parts work.
My experience includes working with adults of all ages struggling with major life transitions such as illness, becoming a new parent, caregiver fatigue, and processing grief and loss. By connecting through compassion and curiosity, I aim to cultivate a therapeutic partnership that feels safe, non-judgemental, and supportive allowing space for growth.
Whether you are learning to address new obstacles or overcoming lifelong struggles, my treatment approach focuses on maximizing your innate personal strengths. I am experienced in providing care for individuals with depression & anxiety, trauma, impulsivity, substance use, LGBTQ+ areas, and issues related to paraphilia and the sexual self. My goal as a psychotherapist is to provide you the tools and self-determination you need to better manage your life in a safe, trustworthy environment free from judgement.
I am skilled in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and have over 15 years experience addressing substance use and addiction related issues and the ability to support sexual wellness. Additionally, I provide Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy and ketamine integration.
My evidence-based, empathic, person-centered approach allows clients, regardless of their age, to unlock their capacity and desire for personal betterment and change. I believe authenticity and collaboration is important in a truly therapeutic relationship as we work together to help you meet your goals.
I am so excited to be working with clients who are using psychedelics and want to enhance their experience through psychotherapy. I’m hoping you will find my experience, education, knowledge, and wisdom enough of a spark to make your first appointment. My approach is always compassionate, empowering and accepting.
With over 30 years experience, I am constantly learning and growing in the field of mental health. My niche is working with couples who are struggling to find the love which brought them together in the first place.
I am very passionate and excited about my work with clients who experience mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, codependency, addictions, eating disorders, body dysmorphia, postpartum depression, and relationship issues. Together, we will embark on this journey of self exploration and personal growth.
I approach therapy as a collaborative exploration of self, relationships, and the world around us. I work with young adults and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, issues related to drugs or alcohol, and those involved in kink and ethically non-monogamous relationships. I support individuals exploring their gender and sexuality and embrace non-binary, trans, and queer identities.
I work with activists, community organizers, and people carrying the emotional weight of social and political crises. Whether you’re confronting climate anxiety, political stress, systemic injustice, burnout, or a growing sense of hopelessness, therapy can be a place to process what you’ve been holding.
I believe therapy can help us confront and transform oppressive systems by emphasizing collective care and collective action. Rather than framing distress as individual pathology, I approach symptoms as meaningful responses to lived conditions. I have particular interest in the psychic dimensions of disalienation, resistance, and revolutionary change.
Therapy can feel intimidating, but it’s also a space for growth, self-discovery, and healing. I work with clients navigating societal pressures, identity, relationships, career goals, and life transitions—especially those feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or alone. If you're seeking a safe, supportive space to explore your experiences and challenges, I’m here to help.
My approach is collaborative and strength-based, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I work with individuals, couples, and groups, helping them explore the connections between their thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and behaviors.
Above all, my goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and empowering space where you can explore, grow, and work toward meaningful, attainable goals—at your own pace. I look forward to working with you.
The search for meaning and authenticity is central to our lives. Whether you are experiencing a time of particular difficulty or simply want to understand yourself more deeply, therapy can provide a space for support, connection, and collaboration in your life’s journey.
Many people I work with experience relational difficulties of various kinds, including long standing issues with roots in the past as well as current challenges in professional and personal life.
I have post-graduate training in psychoanalysis and take an eclectic approach to therapy, customizing treatment to each individual.
Book a session with me if you want to create a healthy and empowering narrative of your life that you can understand and reconcile with. Prior to working as a therapist, I studied comparative literature in college and worked as a copywriter in the advertising industry, discovering, creating, and sharing “stories”. I was drawn to therapy as an occupation, having learned that psychotherapy, essentially, is a process of storytelling. As a therapist, I strive to empower and support my clients in their journey of uncovering and re-arranging their thoughts and feelings to create a coherent and empowering narrative of their lives.
Raised in Seoul, Cairo, and Dubai and now living in New York — all extremely different places — I have a deep empathy for people going through big life transitions—whether it’s geographical, cultural, familial, between jobs/schools/relationships or regarding their gender identity—and are dealing with a sense of loss, isolation, and anxiety as a result.
My approach to therapy is holistic, person-centered, and strength-based, fueled by my genuine curiosity about my clients. I primarily draw from trauma-informed, relational psychodynamic therapy and narrative therapy, but I believe holding a warm and safe space where my clients can freely explore themselves, without fear of judgment, is even more crucial.
I specialize in working with children and adolescents grappling with challenges related to emotional regulation and distress tolerance. My approach is rooted in compassion and evidence-based practices, and I take pride in tailoring therapy sessions and treatment plans to meet your child's unique needs. My clinical experience includes working with individuals who have acute and chronic trauma, adjustment disorders, ADHD, ASD, behavioral concerns encountered at home and in school, global developmental delays, mood disorders, OCD, and PTSD.
I've found that a combination of child-led play therapy, child-friendly Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy techniques yields remarkable results. Play therapy not only encourages flexible thinking but also equips children with the skills they need to navigate social situations with confidence.
For teenagers, I specialize in addressing common issues such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, suicidal thoughts, low self-esteem, bullying, and LGBTQIA+ concerns. By understanding your adolescent's unique strengths and areas for growth, I focus on establishing and achieving tangible goals through emotion-based therapeutic work.
Life is always changing, sometimes predictably, often unexpectedly. At different points, you may find yourself navigating shifting relationships, personal or professional challenges, parenting stress, or the resurfacing of past traumas. These experiences can leave you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected. As a Licensed Social Worker, I support adults managing depression, anxiety, relationship stress, and the complexities of change. I specialize in working with women, birthing people, and LGBTQIA+ families, offering trauma-informed, affirming care around the transformative experiences of pregnancy, postpartum and parenthood.
In our work, you can expect to be met with compassion, curiosity and humor, as we explore patterns or narratives that may no longer serve you. My approach is collaborative and rooted in a relational, person-centered model. I draw from psychodynamic and narrative based therapy, somatic practices and mindfulness to support deep and sustainable healing.
Outside of therapy, I'm also a restorative justice practitioner, committed to creating spaces rooted in authenticity, accountability, and collective care. I believe therapy should be a place where you can feel safe to bring your whole self to be truly seen, heard, and empowered. I look forward to walking with you on your journey of healing and growth.
